Professor Matt Vernon started training Jiu Jitsu in 2007. He is a Christian Derr / Jean Jacques Machado black belt and experienced competitor. Jiu Jitsu changed Matt’s life the day he found it. His passion in life is to help others find and fall in love with the art, science, and sport that has given him so much.
Kendall Vernon
Kendall Vernon stumbled into Jiu Jitsu in 2015. She trained through two pregnancies and founded Gaidama, the globally renowned brand for performance grappling gear. Kendall is an M2 Featherweight IBJJF Brown Belt World Champion and true Jiu Jitsu enthusiast.

Nick Reeves is one of Primate Jiu Jitsu’s most talented and promising students as well as a patient, kind, and technical instructor. He is an active and hungry competitor as well as a great asset to our team and staff.

Joey Eber began his Jiu Jitsu journey when Professor Matt Vernon first opened the doors of Primate Jiu Jitsu in 2015. Since then Joey has become invaluable to the growth and culture of Primate.
